Edit This was an April Fools' Day joke. Please read the second announcement for more details.
Hello,
Thank you for visiting phpBBHacks.com.
Even nearly 8 years after the release of phpBB 2, phpBB 1 remains in popular use. Recognizing this, I'm pleased to announce the upcoming release of a new book titled "phpBB 1 Essentials." The book was authored by former phpBBHacks.com Support Team member Jared W. Smith, who co-authored "Building Online Communities With Drupal, phpBB, and WordPress". It also features a foreword written by me.
phpBB 1 was a very simple piece of software. It was the first version of phpBB that I used, dating back to phpBB 1.2.x, which is what the phpBBHacks.com Support Forums ran at launch. This simplicity still attracts people to it to this day.
The book will cover the installation, customization and management of a phpBB 1 powered forum, including the installation of hacks, styling of your design, mastering of the admin area and securing of your site. All aspects are covered in a highly detailed fashion with the goal of helping you to take your phpBB 1 site to the next level.
The book will be released on May 15, 2010 via eBook and print on demand services. We'll be launching a pre-sale on April 15, with a special, limited time price of $9.95. You can check out the cover below.
I'd like to personally congratulate Jared on authoring a second title. We'd sincerely appreciate your help in spreading the word.
Thank you for reading and for your support.
Sincerely,
Patrick

Nice one,
Actually, I'm thinking about downgrading for some time now, reading this book might give me the final push in that direction. |

Thanks so much, everybody. I always felt I did my best work with phpBB 1, and it's extremely cool to have the opportunity to put that experience to PDF.
