Top 25 Authors: Niels Chr. Denmark (Niels Christian Rød)

For the 10th anniversary celebration, I poured over years and years of contributions to name the top 25 authors in of the phpBBHacks.com era (2001-2011).

It was a difficult task, but I managed to do it. One of the 25 authors is Niels Chr. Denmark (Niels Christian Rød).

Niels Chr. Denmark (born Niels Christian Rød) was one of the most highly impactful and important hack authors of the phpBB 2 era, writing seminal hacks like the Birthday Hack, Fully Integrated Shoutbox, Gender Hack, Last Visit Hack and Global Announcement Hack.

He has the distinction of being the first Featured Author in the history of phpBBHacks.com and being the #1 author in the first two Top 7/8 Hack Authors of the Year lists in the phpBBHacks.com Awards. His 32 works have been downloaded nearly 500,000 times, as astonishing figure that places him third of all authors in the history of the site.

To me, Niels is truly one of the legends of phpBB hack creating. The ideas he crafted into working code are excellent features that help flesh out any forum. A lot of those concepts eventually made the list of phpBB 3's default features, which should indicate how good they really are. Thanks for all your hard work over the years, Niels!

I think you put it in great terms, Jeremy. Niels is a legend in the phpBB community as far as I am concerned, too. His work is really legendary - there are only a handful of people who released such impactful works that helped so many.

Plus, he's always been a pleasure to deal with. A nice, helpful guy.

I specially liked the global announcement mod from niels.
I wrote a mod called Guests See Only First Post which works together with the global announcement mod.
