|
|
Hello everyone,
I have some unfortunate news to share today, regarding Rick (Ricky_Racer). You may have noticed that he has not been around for a while and I noticed this, as well, and tried to get in touch with him.
I spoke to him via phone yesterday and he told me that he has lost a leg to diabetes. He told me that he was taking steps to keep his diabetes in check and was actually on his way to get a prosthetic when I was talking to him. He told me that he has a long road to recovery ahead of him as he'll be taking physical therapy as he relearns how to walk. Because of this, it doesn't sound like we'll be seeing him for a while.
I let Rick know that he's missed, that he'll be in all of our thoughts and that we'll have a spot in the community waiting for him, whenever he should return.
I'm sure some others may have been concerned with him being away, so I asked Rick if I could share this with the community and he said it would be OK.
I am planning to send a card to him in the next couple of weeks, wishing him the very best with a speedy recovery. If you'd like me to include your name in it, along with any well wishes or words for him, please feel free to add them to this thread, private message me or send them via e-mail and I will make sure they are included.
Thank you for reading.
Sincerely,
Patrick _________________ Patrick O'Keefe - phpBBHacks.com Administrator - Feedback? Questions? Please Contact Me!

Sorry to hear about your plight Rick and yet at the same time I am happy that this sad news posted by Patrick is nowhere near as sad as I first thought it was going to be when I read the initial announcement.
I hope you have a speedy recovery and that you manage to control your diabetes to the point that you can enjoy many more years of life and I look forward to seeing you back here on phpbbhacks.com when you are well enough to do so. _________________ ~HG~

Diabetes is certainly not an enjoyable experience, I hope his recovery is swift. _________________ MSN Messenger: RyanZ17[AT]hotmail.com

Rick,
You have always been there for others, here at phpbbhacks, Smartor's and many other communities. Every time, you've provided help and support in a respectfull manner.
For sure, you'll be missed around here, but now is the time to really think about yourself and recover as fast as possible from this difficult experience.
My best wishes go to you for a speedy recovery.
Regards,
