Thanks for the further thoughs, Felix, Jim_UK and Dogs and Things.

Dogs and Things, which cloud hosting company do you use? I have an Amazon S3 account, but I am not sure how well cPanel can FTP into S3. Going to look into it more, but would welcome any thoughts.

I'm using http://www.hosteurope.de/produkte/Cloud-Storage
It's a German company but you can ask for info in English.

It's not cPanel that has to do the ftp job, it's Msqldumper itself. You feed it your ftp account details and Mysqldumper does the rest.

My guess is that you will have no problems using an Amazon S3 account.

Thanks, Dogs and Things. cPanel/WHM has built in tools that you can use to backup databases and it can be done via FTP, so I figure that if I go that route, that is what I will use.

From Google searches, it appears that FTP to S3 isn't as easy as one might expect, but I'll be thinking about this more.
