smtp and Return-Path

I am trying to get the return-path in email that is sent out to be the user "returned_email" so that I can parse the mail file to get email addresses of users whose email address is no longer valid and de-activate, delete or ban them.

I'd guess it would be a simple line change in includes/smtp.php.

Can someone please help me?
