Hello rashid.sharafat,

Thanks for posting. Well, to refresh your phpBB files, you could upload the prosilver style from the default phpBB package and then make sure that all users and forums are set to use it as default. After that, you can delete all of your current files, except for config.php and that prosilver folder, and then upload all of the default phpBB files, excluding the config.php file - you should use the one from your old installtion.

That would set your phpBB back to it's default state appearance wise, as well.

You should backup all files before actually deleting them, just in case something goes wrong.

If you would like to set the database back and remove any added tables or adjustments that hacks that you have installed may have made, that would be a little more complicated.

Please let us know if that is what you are looking to do.

I appreciate your time.

Thanks,

Patrick

Hello rashid.sharafat,

Thanks for the reply.

Good job bringing that up as I forgot to say that you should not delete your attachments, avatars, etc. So, don't delete the /download, /files, /store or the /images directories.

With that in mind, all of the default phpBB features and content created through those features will be fine. That would include attachments and permissions.

To move the forums to your root, you should go to your admin panel and in the left menu, open up both the "Server settings" and "Cookie settings" links in new tabs. Change the "Script path" on the "Server settings" tab to "/" without the quotes. It should be "/forums" before you change it.

On the "Cookie settings" page, make sure that "Cookie path" is set to "/"

After both of those are done, you can move your files up to the root directory. Make sure to clear your cache, etc. and it should work.

Please let us know if you run into any issues.

Thanks,

Patrick
