Download MOD 6.3
http://www.phpbbhacks.com/download/8452

I have installed and edited the appropriate files. I am able to configure the hack in the admin panel and the client options are viewable on their profiles options page. I have added downloads and categories successful.

I cannot however figure out out to implement the mod into the forums. How are users able to use this mod. There is no tab, link or menu item to accomplish this. (Except for the users configuration options).

I am novice/intermediate in Phpbb hacks experience and am running the latest version.

I hope a phpbb guru may help explain to me my errors, what other steps I may need to take or a missed thread that may be relevant.

Thx.

are you using a different style than the defaults?

there should be a new link in the menu at the top of the page.

in the install it tells you to put that link in the overall_header.html file for prosilver and subsilver2.

Hello,
do not forget to purge the template, theme and grafic caches from your style to see the link in the board header.

thx for the helpful replies.

Indeed the style was the issue. The Download MOD is based on prosilver.
The style I am using is based on subsilver. How can I get it to work for sub silver based themes?

When I try to duplicate instructions for prosilver installation and apply them to the subsilver theme (BTW, no subsilver files included), I am unable to do so successfully. I am having same issue with ad management mod.

I understand this may be a noob question but I really do appreciate your time to help.

The MOD contains an install instruction for subsilver2, too. Just look into the folder contrib/.

Don't worry about asking "noob questions," SayUNKLE. We're all at that point at some time or another. Welcome to our community.

Thanks Karsten, as well!

Hello,

I'm new to this forum as well as setting up phpbb3 from scratch. While my forum is for my Virtual airline and we have a .co.uk site sql capabilities I figured a forum within the .co.uk (that is /forum) would look more pro!. It does!

While searching around for some "mods" I found the download one which again I figured would look better than a bunch of topics in the forum (how wrong am I).

After around an average of 7 hours I'm now close to giving up, re-installing the forum and never going down the road of mod installation again. After editing the files as per instruction (in that xml file) all I get when I prge the cache on prosilver (only theme I have installed) i get a parse error on line 205. Having opend the file the code = <?php } ?>.

When I clear the cahe directory via wiseftp, and re-upload the origional overall_hearder.html everything works ok.

Can anyone elebarate?

btw the mod tab in the ACP works fine from what I can figure out, just nothing else, no download/upload option in the posts or anything.

Thanks for your help, and can I say how great this forum is

Steve

ps:

the message i am getting is:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in E:\domains\i\imagine-airways.co.uk\user\htdocs\forum\cache\tpl_prosilver_overall_header.html.php on line 205

Hello and welcome, savagegrave. We appreciate the kind words about the forums.

Please post the code for your /prosilver/template/overall_header.html file. It'll help others to help you.

Thanks,

Patrick
