To me dark forums are generally gaming forums but if that is what you and your members like then stick to it.
Not much to comment on design wise though as it appears to be "standard" in the context that it is a design that you chose because you liked it.
I did however, spend quite a bit of time reading some of the posts which I found quite interesting.
Good luck with your board and I hope you and your members enjoy it to the fullest.

Thanks for the reply. I wish we could find something more drag race oriented in the phpbb but the dark was the most fitting we could find. |

Your site logo suggests that you have club colors of black with the red/yellow flame and that looks quite good.
However, your forum itself tends to shy away from those colors with the use of blue and yellow on a black background.
I personally would go more with a "flame" colored background to the forum just to brighten it up a little bit.
If you could give us some details of your club colors etc, we could possibly make suggestions that will help you achieve a better look and feel for the design.
You should also ask your members for feedback on what they would like to see in the way of improvements to the design, if any. They may well be quite happy with how it looks atm.

It's not that bad. I would say, get a better banner, more professional one
One more thing I don't like is the big shoutbox in the footer ..

It's so dark, too dark for me to register and post even if i was interested. May want to rethink the colors.
