Well it is still well and truly under construction but in saying that it is fully operational so it is ready to be reviewed by phpBBHacks.com members.

The style used is Glacier Lite to which I have removed all the hover effects from the index and viewforum pages (I personally don't like hover effects on forums.) and have edited the header from the original.

Glacier and Glacier Lite templates by ShadowFlames Development are based on the phpBB3 default style, prosilver. I have never really been a fan of prosilver but since I moved the mini profile details from the right hand side to the left hand side, I feel very comfortable with the style.

I have also added board3 portal which I might add, has come a long way since it was first released and now looks very professional. The authors of that particular portal have done a great job with it.

I am also considering changing the forum buttons to something different but am not sure yet what would suit the theme so that is something I will leave for now and work on in the future.

The purpose of the board, as the domain name suggests, is to bring together as many tutorials for phpBB as I can so that in itself means a lot of work in the coming months.

There are many tutorials around for phpBB and phpBBHacks has quite a few themselves but there is no site that I know of that covers everything that can be covered in the form of tutorials and that is why I am attempting to bring together as many as I can into one location.

I have added a number of hacks so far and the most notable is Prime Quick Reply and Advanced BBCode Box 3 with ACP (aka ABBC3) both of which work really well together.

My original intention was to also include the website integration mod by Highway of Life but after installing board3 portal, decided that by going that way, it would add way too many pages to the site and thus end up becoming a navigation nightmare so I decided against it.

Right, now I need some feedback and critique from all you great people here at phpBBHacks.com to stimulate my mind into doing things that you can see but I cant atm.

So here you go, take a look starting with the portal at:

Hello ~HG~,

Congratulations on the new site.

The biggest thing I think when I see a site like this is that it's a nice theme, for sure, but I would like to see you make it more your own. Right now, it almost entirely resembles the base style and I think that it would be great to change some colors and also to get a logo in place of the text at the top left, in the header.

So, the basis is there, now I would just say to make it yours. Good luck with it. Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Patrick

That will happen in time of course Patrick and as you well know, putting together a site and making it your own is very time consuming.

Sure I would like to change some colors but not a great deal and get a logo in place but I still do not know what design I want for the logo itself. I know it should really reflect phpBB and many searches on Google for something that would be suitable so far have proved fruitless.

Once I do get a logo designed, then the site colors will follow it so until then I have simply changed the original logo and added a background color from a Vista style to compliment the current color scheme.

Also once a logo design becomes available, then I would imagine that the forum buttons and folders will follow a similar concept which will then give it a more individual look and feel.

Thanks for you reply it is appreciated of course.

Yeah my only suggestion is making the layout more your own. Use a color scheme and graphics that make your site more unique. (not that I really have room to talk...I've been too lazy to work on the layout of my site...it's still the default prosilver )

That is something that I am working on html-n-beyond

So far I have experimented with a banner and changed the default icon and folder images.

The next thing to do is to change the default blue of Glacier_Lite to something closer to the banner and folders or even to contrast with them.

Always a long process in establishing what you feel is right and that is one reason I always ask for feeback because other people can see thing's that I can't.

Well with many hours of help and assistance from Denny the other day we have finally come up with a new banner design plus added new folders to the index page.

Looking at the current layout and design I think we are nearly there in completing the design so I guess it is time again now for further feedback on how we are going.

Your critique would be appreciated thanks.

Definitely looks pretty good ~HG~.

The login button is somewhat noticeable like the register button. However the "login" button is a bit out of place with the theme it seems. Maybe something different with that?

Always good seeing a new one of your sites.

Yes your right Truestar so I might have to look at a gray button for that.

I do have a black one at the ready so I will try it for starters.

I also had another blue shade at the ready so I went with it instead.
