deleting old pm from a user account

Hi, just wondered if there was any way for admin to easily delete all old messages from inactive or banned user accounts.

Thanks for the question.

Do you want it to be done automatically? i.e. you ban someone and then phpBB automatically deletes all of their PMs? I don't know of a hack for that, unfortunately.

However, if you wanted the ability to delete all PMs sent from or to a given member, by entering their username and hitting a button, there are a pair of hacks that would be able to assist you there:

excellent, have been searching for ages, must have searched wrong words LOL ..

We did not want to automatically delete pm's from banned users in case there was any evidence of wrong doings that needed to be saved, but wanted some thing that would be easy to select and clear out old unwanted pm's as and when we wanted to, without messing about with the database files themselves !
