Hi I ported Always show 'edited by' 0.0.3 over to a nuke fork called nuke evo. My question is may I share it with others?, as the author said we could use it but not redistribute it. His site is down and he left no email but did leave a link here. If anyone knows him (see below) or can grant me permission it would be appreciated.
Thank You,
Clyde

Hello and welcome, cyde4210.
GPL wise, you are OK to do so. That statement is more of a request than anything else. I always recommend making all possible efforts to contact an author to ask for permission, but if that fails, GPL wise, you are alright to redistribute, as long as you maintain credit to the original author.
As an aside, I haven't spoken to him in a long time, but Vincent (FB) is my friend and I'm sure he'd be cool with you doing so, having made an effort to contact him.
Thanks for asking.

Hi Patrick,
Yes I have been looking. I even followed posts here to see about finding him. I've went and gotten as far as sourceforge. Still no clue as to finding him.
What we do when a mod has been ported we just make an extra line in the directions stating who ported the mod and to request help from that person as they ported it.
I'll look and wait till Monday before moving ahead and posting it for download.
Thank you for the fast response Patrick.
Thank You,
Clyde |
