|
|
Hi,
I am using phpbb 2.0.23. I am wondering how I can make a 2nd account an admin of the forum. This way when I am gone to vacation, I can leave someone else in charge without having to give them my own password or have them use my admin account to be able to use the ACP. _________________ phpBBhacks.com is the best! go to user management in the admin panel, lookup that user's name. at the top of the resulting page, is a drop down menu, choose admin from that menu.
make sure that there is nothing in the password field and then aclick submit.
be aware, that they will have all the same powers as you do. Including the power to wipe out the board.
so, choose admins wisely.

Thank you for your assistance. According to your instructions above, I could not find the drop-down menu under the Management field in the ACP. I did find the drop-down menu under the Permissions field. -- My other concern is that the Permissions field doesn't have a field to enter any passwords.
I wonder if my board is missing something? Please advise?

yes, you are correct. It is the permissions section.
why do you need a field for password?
the user in question already has a password or he would not be a registered member.

Oh, that is because you wrote above to make sure there isn't anything written in the password field before I submit. I was just wondering if my template wasn't showing all the fields correctly.
But consider this inquiry solved. Thank you. _________________ phpBBhacks.com is the best! Great people! Great hacks! |

yes, I am sorry for the confusion there. when doing the user management, there is a field for the password.
sometimes your browsers will automatically fill in that field with your password.
If you are working on a members settings, and you submit, it could cause some confusion. Just like I have done here.
sorry about that.
