1) can someone please link or tell me the name of the hack that is used for this forum registration? (place a checkbox next to which pictures are of animals)

2) is there a hack out there that prevents posting delay for say X hours after a new account is created?

thanks

Welcome to phpBBHacks.com

1. http://www.phpbbhacks.com/download/7937

2. I haven't seen one yet after a quick search, but I'll keep looking. Is there a reason you are needing this feature? Perhaps using another hack would allow you to achieve the results you want without it if we knew exactly what the problem was?

Thanks.

the reason for wanting this feature was that bots were still registering/posting and I had already put in a couple phpbb hacks for this. My understanding is that the bots create an account and immediately post afterwards. Even a 1 hour delay would probably kill a ton of spam.

I'm hoping that the first link with the animals will be enough to finally kill all the spam registrations I am getting.

thanks

That should cut down on spam quite a bit. Another thing is to make sure you have the "Account Activation" settings set to at least "User" so the user must activate their account via e-mail.
