I am using subsilover as a basis for my forum and have tried countless things to change the background colour to an image and also the original white bit in subsilver around the forums. Please help as no matter what I have tried it just willnot change from the colours I have.

I tried changing my body background image in my directory but the change has not caught on. I still get the old image- even after it has change completely

Ah there goes my incompetence, I thought you simply modified it on the admin page where it asks for body background.
I also changed the file so that the new background is called images/body_background |

Now I changed the body-background to a new image, but the new image does not take, I just get a grey-black background.

If you replaced the original image with one the same size and used the same name, then you should not have to do anything other than to refresh the page to have it show up.
