First time at tweaking using phpBB3 and am pleased with what I have achieved. Its not a fully functioning board yet and I would first like to get it complete and stable before I move it to its own address.

Please give feedback on what I have done and any tips and ideas on how to improve. The base template I have used is subsilver2. Trying to add a few hacks but at the moment not confident enough as it is totally different from phpbb2, well for me anyway.Think its the layout of the install guides that have thrown me.

You have done well so far.

You just need to get the default buttons and icons replaced with suitable one's for your scheme. You will find them in styles/imagesets

Adding hacks is just as easy as it is with phpBB2 ... in fact it is easier as most have their own files and only minimal changes are made to existing code, if at all in some cases.

The only thing to remember is no change will take place until you purge the cache after making changes and or refreshing the imagesets for image's and refreshing the template after making template changes.

I dont think it will take you long to have it where you want it.

If you intend to add a QR I can thoroughly recomment this one as well as some of the other mods primehalo has made for phpBB3

Thanks for the link hun and the fab feedback as always. I have tried modding but its the fear of the unknown and where some lines say...'this may not be the full line pof code' and my not knowing quite where it should end.

I found out the purge cache the hard way after adding stuff and then wondering why it wouldn't change after the upteenth upload ofthe same image/colour lol.

I am currently working on the buttons but can not find the right look for them yet and am experimenting with PSP.
We post an update when I do though.
