Hello,
The main purpose of this forum is for the development (creation, feedback, testing, etc.) of phpBB 3 hacks and styles (including themes, templates and image sets). But, it is also for interaction between hack and style authors and general help in the creation of hacks and styles. Please remember that our User Guidelines apply to all posts on this community, including posts in this forum, with the exceptions listed below.
Authors are encouraged to post development threads here in order to improve their hacks and styles. Users are encouraged to help authors by testing their hacks and styles and giving them feedback as requested.
Please keep the following things in mind:
- When you are developing a hack or style and you need to provide links for people to download it, link directly to the file. Do not link to a general site. When providing a demo, link directly to the demo. Again, please do not link to a general site. Please only link when there is a purpose to the link - please do not blatantly promote a site.
- Registration should not be required to download the file or to view the demo, except if the functionality of a hack relates to features provided to registered users only.
- This forum is not for non development/stable releases. We do not allow release threads in our Support Forums as this is what our database is for. When a hack or style is ready to be released, please submit it at http://www.phpbbhacks.com/submit.php. Please only use this forum for the pre-release development of your hacks and styles. This forum can be used for the improvement and development of future versions of already released hacks and styles, as well.
- If you release a new non development/stable version of your hack or style without consulting your development thread, you may make a note of this in your development thread after it has been approved and is available for download at phpBBHacks.com (providing a link to it at phpBBHacks.com, if you wish). Unless it is an emergency (for example, a serious security issue) - then you can post as soon as you have submitted the update to phpBBHacks.com and link directly to the file at your server/site while you are waiting for the update to the phpBBHacks.com database.
- Please do not develop it here unless you plan to release it here by submitting it to our database.
- Please do not use your development thread as a support thread. We do not encourage the creation of a single thread where an author tries to get everyone who has a question about his or her hack or style to ask it there.
- Please do not tell users to post related issues somewhere other than phpBBHacks.com. If you are developing it here, you are developing it here. You are welcome to create development threads at other sites, but please do not use your development thread here as a means to vaguely send people to those other sites. Please do not use your thread to blatantly advertise your personal site or create threads to highlight a link that you are in some way affiliated with, except if you are developing a hack as outlined above.
Thank you for reading and for developing your hacks and styles at phpBBHacks.com. _________________ Patrick O'Keefe - phpBBHacks.com Administrator - Feedback? Questions? Please Contact Me!
