If you get an error saying "Cannot Connect to Database" when you are running a database install script that came with a specific hack and you are certain that you have done everything else correctly, there is a simple fix.

Open common.php and find:

// We do not need this any longer, unset for safety purposes
unset($dbpasswd);

Replace with:

// We do not need this any longer, unset for safety purposes
//unset($dbpasswd);

Now try to run your database script. But, DON'T FORGET to change the code back once you have run the script. This is for security reasons.
