Portal System

Its been a long time since ive been here. I'm trying to reboot a web site I had almost 6 years ago and I want to get a general idea of what portal system is good to use now. Ive noticed that smartors easy portal is still rolling strong but I see alot of new ones that I dont know. so if anyone would be so kind, could you help set me in the right direction on what portal I use?

I just wanted to ask a few questions that will allow others to help you more easily.

Are you looking for a phpBB-based portal system or a portal that integrates with phpBB? Or are you looking for something that is separate from phpBB, a standalone portal system?

If you are looking for one that works with phpBB or is phpBB-based, are you looking for one for phpBB 3?
