Yeah, definitely look better, Heiko!

One additional thing I just noticed was mousing over the forums on index.php and the topics on viewforum.php... I'm not sure if I like the faded element and the mouse over color (it's kind of an odd red color). I wonder what it would look like without the fade and as the solid red color that most other hyperlinks have.

But, again, keep up the good work.

Thanks,

Patrick

Hey Heiko, I was watching a program on TV just the other night and thought of you and your forum.

The story was about the most amazing zoo I have ever encountered, but have not seen. I would love to visit it one day though as it is the Singapore Zoo and the link that I found on google is http://www.zoo.com.sg/

If i owned the site, i would replace your www.zoocrew.eu logo with a more graphic image to attract attention to the site and keep visitors there.

Other than that, it's a very nice, well done, professional website. Nice work.

hi lefty74
you choose a very (very very...) difficult color scheme but the result is good, not too flashy, balanced, harmonius and readable.

We guess at once what is the theme of the site and it's for me the first thing to do on a website.

Right column is useful, every pages are worked.
I love specially the background with animal paw.

But (always a but ^^) i can see things I don't like :

- pixelation of corners and many others images (mini-icons for navigation etc).

- logo too small to be highlighted :
in general, i think the header is perfectible. links are more visible than logo at first look.
Logo is you identity, it's your trademark, it's very important to have a real attention on that in design.

- missing navbar in other pages except forum :
A nice search with quick result is a good tools for users, you can have a google search by example or using phpBB3 sessions in all pages.
Search-box deserves graphic attention, many webmasters allow this tool yet it is most used on the web !

This is not things very important, but the details give a graphic look serious and professional.

Of course this is strictly personal opinion

thanks very much, i never noticed any pixelation but then i am not exactly an expert in design and html.

may i ask what do you mean by the header is perfectible? regarding the logo, i fully agree and it has been identified already for needing some attention.

there is a navbar on all pages , will take your point re the searchbar into consideration.

again, thanks so much for your feedback, this is really helping us making the site look much better.

Good to see you, Heiko.

Regarding that faded link style, I notice that it's only a few links that actually have this (forum titles and usernames on the index page, topic names on the forum page), etc. The username links on view topic don't have this style as they have the style that the rest of the site has, including the forums header and side menu. It might be a good idea to do one or the other for consistency, but just thinking outloud.

Thanks,

Patrick

mistake sorry, i talking about search, no navbar

for the header, after the logo, perhaps you can use some simples effects for the links for example :
http://www.distinctcorp.com.au/jquery/spritemenu.html
you have many others menu here :
http://www.cssplay.co.uk/menus/

i think too, it's now essential to have socials links too (twitter, etc..)
you can put it in your header if you want.

Thanks Patrick, i appreciate your feedback very much. Will think about it again but as I could not think of a way for fading the background without fading whats in there i think this will stay as is.

thanks very much for the links, i will definitely take a close look at them when i start working on the change. with regard to twitter and facebook, they are on the homepage. since you didnt seem them, i realise they are in the wrong place to be noticed lol
