I still can't believe it's been 10 years. It's cool to read about how far phpBB itself has come and see how this site has flourished over the years since my last visit. I bet php has come a long ways since I've last used it as well; I've been in the c# world for about 7 years now.

It's also great to be honored with a spot in the top 25 list. I appreciate all the things this site has given me while I was involved.

All this makes me want to do some work on phpBB again If only I had some free time these days.

Congratulations Patrick for your efforts in maintaining this site for 10 years now!

On the web, it is impressive for any software product to last 10 years in my opinion. phpBB itself, 10 years on, is still the open source heavy hitter in forum software. In the last 10 years many new types of communities have appeared, but forums (bulletin boards) are still in use everywhere, and not just in hacker communities. Despite Facebook, Twitter, and more, phpBB still has an active commuity serving many niches and phpBBhacks continues to serve that community well with useful resources.

Congratulations too, Patrick, on the publication of your book, and for the SitePoint podcast of which you are a vital part.

I helped Patrick with a bit of code and graphics for a very old version of the phpBBhacks site once, and we became good friends, but I haven't been actively involved with phpBBhacks for quite a lot of years now. I'm still coding PHP in my day job and in my spare time
