Hello,

Thank you for visiting phpBBHacks.com.

Announced today on phpBB.com by new Development Team leader Nils Adermann, phpBB 3.1 will only support PHP versions 5.2.0 and later.

According to the post, phpBB 3.1 is in the "early stages of development" and the phpBB 3.0 string will be supported for a period of 6-9 months after the release of 3.1.

Thank you for reading.

Sincerely,

Patrick

Given that phpBB3.1 will probably be years away from release and php5.2 will have been updated many times in that timeframe, I really dont see the reason nor the need for the phpBB development team to make such an announcement.

Probably just to be safe. No harm in making people aware of it, I don't think.
