Today, 10 years ago, the phpBBHacks.com Support Forums launched! If you're a regular visitor, you know that the site as a whole turned 10 on April 6 and we had a big celebration tied to that.
But, even though we had that big celebration, I did want to note this milestone for the forums, specifically, as it is still a big deal. Everything I said for the 10th anniversary of phpBBHacks.com applies just the same for the forums as they are a big part of this website.
I would like to take this moment to thank everyone who has positively contributed to our forums and everyone who has served as a member of my staff. The staff has played a vital role in the history of this website and their efforts and support are greatly appreciated by me.
That aside, I also have a surprise! For the 10th anniversary celebration, we had a special, live, three hour webcast hosted by me and Jared W. Smith, former phpBBHacks.com Support Team Member, and current Webmaster of ReadWriteWeb.
The show featured a few special guests, including Ptirhiik (Pierre Roge), Triumvirate (Brandon Levan) and Nivisec (Billy Sauls), in addition to interaction with other members of the community in the chat room. We talked about the history of phpBBHacks.com, how it came to be where it is today and more. We had a great time and, as promised, you can listen to the show uncut by downloading it from the live webcast page.
For long term users of the site, it's a stroll down memory lane and, if you're curious about the site's history, it's a good listen for those purposes, as well.
