OH NO that iai forum bot thing again!

I have been around for a long time but never post much. I have been approached about the phpBB2 forum bot iai that became so well received but is not compatible with phpBB3 as it stands. I am about to take a look at it and wanted all the input i can get first. I have a feeling there is something I do not know because it appears to be the talk of the town in some arenas and silent in the ones that count.

Why has the topic and work up been shunned or kept in the dark? Anyone?

Hello John,

As we discussed via email, I don't think it's because it was shunned or dark. As long as people know they are interacting with a bot, there isn't any real issue in that area. It may be that people just aren't interesting in writing it. But, maybe someone will be interested down the line.

I am just trying to help many phpbb users who have asked for this mod to be altered for phpbb3. I offered $50.00 for someones time to modify the script out of my pocket if it would help.

I am not sure about the deception clause as I have never seen a Forum or site using the Bot maliciously or under false pretenses and the most appealing part of the mod is for people to know it is an artificial intelligence posting.

I was just hoping someone had time to take the phpbb2 mod and make it phpbb3 compatible or let me know why it was not able to be modified.

I personally support several Community Forums but they all use different Platforms as phpbb is just one of them. The users asked me to inquire before they went back to phpbb2 just to host the bot.

Anyone interested in this mod re-write please let me know.

I am honourable but not stupid so no send me's just alter the script let me test it and spend your 50 when you are done. Try me if you do not trust me. I love to prove I am worthy. If nothing else I will send the money to Patrick and he can relay it if it would help. But do not worry if you are honest you will be shielded from a rip. That is what I do... They do not call me The Comforter for nothing. If it is too cheap I am sorry but it is all I want to throw in for free but it sounds good for a few hours of typing for someone who knows phpbb well.

Just a quick note in passing.


Very busy and hard to get online right now but this phpbb3 iai bot issue is not dormant. One of the best is currently working on the mod and will be responding to phpbbhacks with the results soon!

I am not sure I can mention any names as we haven't had time to discuss much since beginning this task.

The phpBB3 IAI BOT mod is complete. This MOD makes it possible to include the IAI auto-response BOT with your phpBB3 Forum.

Because this MOD is multi-level and in association with features not included with phpBB framework by default information is limited here, other than to let phpBB3 users know the MOD has been re-written for use with the phpBB3 and the IAI BOT program.

According to google this is the sole source for information pertaining to this subject and the Forum here has gone to the top of the list when this subject is requested via search engine.

This information will be added to the phpBB website and for more information please contact The Comforter - John West via email.
