Login window

Hi everyone... new member here.. I have a technical question for you..
but before I get into it I have to admit I'm a neophyte at all this stuff. Translation: I'm stupid and will not know anything about what you might try to have me do.. so.. you'll have to gently guide me through step by step of what I have to do.. that is, if you have a fix for me...

Ok, I'm not sure if I'm putting this in the write place but here goes..

Here's my issue.. when I enter my site/board I have it set that you see my site graphic.. takes up the whole screen basically.. then when I click on login link in the top left, the log in area appears under my graphic and off the screen. users have to scroll down to the login area. I would like the login area to popup over my graphic when the login button is clicked.
Does this make sense?? is this an easy fix/mod? I would greatly appreciate it if any coding guru's out there could help me with this...

Hello and weldome, dwr1234. This would require some sort of hack, to have the login text fields appear in some sort of overlay box.

Has anyone seen a hack like that?

Haven't seen one like that. It would take some CSS and maybe Javascript, but it's kind of a specialized application. I doubt it's been made previously.

When I click on the log in link it shows the log in exactly how you have described how you want it.

Now I am not sure if you have resolved the problem but if not, I would suggest that you change your screen resolution to see if that makes a difference at your end.

Hey ~HG~,

The problem that he is having is that his header is so big that it pushes it down. It appears on the first screen for my resolution, too, even though it is still below the image, but I have a big resolution.

But on 1024x768 or smaller, it's below the image.

What he wants is for it to display in an overlay (think AJAX) over the image, rather than going to the login page.

What I did was combined two MODs. The Prime Quick Login and the Floating Yellow Info Bar for Guest.

The bar will follow you all the way up and down the screen.
