I am completely new to phpBB - just activated it on our site and setting up our first forum.

We have downloaded a phBB 2 template - zip file with lots of files and folders and subfolders.

I have tried putting all of it or jus the tempaltes folder (and subfolder) into the \templates\ folder on the server - but whenever i go to "Add" in the Styles Admin it doesn't come up so I can't install it.

What should be put in the templates folder on the server to allow us to install a downloaded template? is there a file or folder with certain files I should be looking for?

thanks Patrick. Good link. Exactly what I needed.

I have read through it. But the template I downloaded doesn't seem to have a folder structure as discussed in that post. What I see in the extracted zip file is the following folder structure:

downloadedTemplate
- imageset
-en
- template
- theme
-imageset

So I tried uploading the template subfolder under \templates on the server - this did not work.

Any other ideas?

Hello alect,

Thank you for your reply. Happy to hear, my pleasure!

From looking at your post, it appears you have downloaded a style for phpBB 3 as that is the phpBB 3 folder structure. Would you be able to provide a link to the template you downloaded?

Thanks,

Patrick

It was a free sample from templatemonster.com - I can't find a link.

I will try downloading another theme that is phpBB and installing it - will report back!

Thanks for your help.
