Hacks same for every style?

I got a question, it's a noob question since i'm new to this but here goes:
Is a hack the same for every style of phpBB?
On my site i use we_universal, but if i would try to install a hack for the normal prosilver theme or so, would it work on the we_universal theme aswell?

Hey Dude36,

There will be differences, depending on how drastically the style's structure is altered from the default phpBB style files.

A good rule of thumb to follow is that if a style is based on prosilver, there is a fair chance that it will match the prosilver edits. If a style is based on subsilver2, there is a fair chance it will match the edits provided for subsilver2, if they are provided.

prosilver styles are tableless and will feature a lot of div tags. subsilver2 has tables and will feature table tags, as such. we_universal appears to be table based.

But, if you are having trouble finding the section to edit, try to cut down the code you are trying to find to the specific element included and then adjust for what the style has done to the formatting.

I know that can be kind of confusing. So, what you can also do is tell us here when you have trouble finding a specific edit and post the code you are trying to find and change and then the style in question and we'll try to help you find the right spot.
