Customisation Issues

I'm having a couple of problems with phpBB 3.

1. The site_logo.gif image seems to be distorted to a default size, so the logo I add as the "site_logo.gif" does not appear as it should. For now I have made a logo within the constraints of the resolution of the standard phpbb one but how do I change this?

i) I would ideally like all the top banner (or header?) text gone and the logo big enough to just add in my own banner, with a logo etc. How customisable is the whole header of the forum to accomodate this? How does this effect the title of the page text which seems to be taken from Header text?

2. The other problem I've had is as this is a car forum, I've added the very common "Drives:" field to profiles so other users can see what they drive. I've set it all up properly afaik but it does NOT show the "Drives:" field under the username etc when people post. I can't see any other way to change it?

3. How do I move the username text etc from appearing on the right side of posts (presumably default) from appearing on the left hand side?

1) The width and height of the logo image are defined in the Administration Control Panel. It's under the Styles section, in the Imageset stuff somewhere.

i) You'll have to edit the overall_header.html file of your style. It generally contains a lot of stuff. Exactly what you would have to edit depends on what style you're using and what you want to accomplish.

For the 2nd issue, from your admin panel homepage, look in the left menu and click "Load settings" under "SERVER CONFIGURATION". Find "Display custom profile fields on topic pages:" and select "Yes". Then, press "Submit". I think that should do the trick, shouldn't it? Not 100% sure, though.

It's so rewarding creating something like this isn't it.

I've managed to sort out the profile field "Drives" which is good. Really pleased with that.

As for the 3rd issue where you kindly gave me the link to the tutorial, I'm completely stumped. I edited all the code as requested, and it didn't change anything at all it seems. All information in posts and on PMs still seems to appear on the right hand side, and not the left as I'd hoped.

I went back through all the mentioned files and checked the code and it all looks fine, so I really am clueless now!

I've been through the user control panel thinking there might be a preference in there specific to my account stopping it, but it doesn't seem there is anything that could have stopped these changes taking effect.

I have managed to have it all appear on the left hand side (as below) but now the blue background from posts has disappeared? Presumably it's a problem in the viewtopic_body.html.
(I have managed to remove the code showing in the picture below, but no luck getting the blue background to re-appear).
