BBCode to embed swf audio on phpBB2?

hello

i'm looking for a phpBB 2 compatible hack (yeah, i know, i really should upgrade (:dead:) that lets me create a post that can stream an mp3

i want to use the standalone version of Martin Laine's wordpress audio player - i've used before it on several wordpress and standalone sites and its quick and simple to use and does its job very well

i've had a trawl around and found the Advanced BBCode Box hack, but that doesn't seem to quite give me what i want. the "stream music" option in there just embeds an mp3 opject in the post, which automatically launches quicktime and starts the audio playing...

i realise i'm probably looking for some kind of bbcode, and i've see a fe examples of how to add custom bbcodes to phpbb 3 (which seems much simpler, eg: this one from phpbbandbbcodes.com), but there doesn't seem to be anything like it for v2

to make matters a little more complicated, the forum also uses phpbb_fetch_all to generate content several key pages on the main site, including a news page which shows the latest posts from a topic as individual blog-style news items. this news section will also need to display the post with embedded audio

(the site's reliance on phpbb_fetch_all is the main reason i never upgraded to v3 )

any ideas?

The Advanced BBCode Box has some sort of Flash embedding including in it - I'm guessing that didn't work?

yep, stuff is good thanks.

i had a quick play with that feature but it seemed very cludgy to get it to write out a <script> element to instantiate the swf audio player

i ad hoped something more dedicated existed

hmmm, coming at this from the other way around, is there a phpbb3 equiv of phpbb_fetch_all?

Glad to hear that you are good.

Unfortunately, not that I am aware of (phpBB 3 does have RSS feeds, which makes for easier content syndication), outside of Jeremy's hack that is in alpha. But, maybe someone else will have some thoughts there.
