This hack allows you to move the avatar directories outside of the normal phpBB file paths. You can put your avatars in /images/avatars instead of /phpBB/images/avatars/, for example.

This is useful if you have more than one phpBB installation, forums on subdomains of your main site or an existing site structure that you don't want to completely rearrange.
